Smashing Pumpkins

The day after Halloween Brian & the girls have the fun & crazy tradition of picking the rotted pumpkins out of their garden and throwing them off the roof of their house. Brian agrees to this (actually joins in whole heartedly - I told you how fun, wild & youthful he is) after the girls promise to clean up the mess made by the splattered pumpkins.
This year Parker & Paxton got to participate in the festivities (I was just the camera woman as well as the ladder holder.) Paxton wasn't allowed on the roof of course so he threw his from the top of the ladder.
Anything goes - try to throw it far out into the road like Morgan & Parker are doing here,
or throw it through the basketball hoop to make a basket (Madi scored a 2 pointer) or hit one of the hoola hoop targets.
I think Brian picked the prized, rotted pumpkin as his exploded while it was still in the air.

After throwing the pumpkins off the front of the house the kids thought it would be fun to throw them off the back of the house & bounce them off the tramp.
The boys really enjoyed joining in and did pretty good at helping with the clean up after as well.

What a bunch of rednecks! Okay, I am to blame. Thanks for putting up with me and my hill-billy ways.

aaah! That would scare the crap out of me being up on the roof and throwing something. I would probably fall off, and of course I would be the over protective mother and tell my kids that it was too dangerous. Looks like you are the cool mom :) And Brian I don't think throwing pumpkins is as redneck as throwing cow crap! Isn't that what they do for some celebration in your town? :)

Brooke - yeah, that was my ward rodeo where they had a cow pie throwing contest that Brian was intrigued with. :)
