Our Rainy Labor Day

Payson celebrates Onion Days every Labor Day weekend. We wanted to hit the parade, carnival & other festivities & headed over Monday morning with the intention of doing just that. Our plans were changed when it started raining buckets right at the start of the parade. The rain did not look like it was going to let up so we got soaked running back to the car & thought about what else we could do with our day.

Well, what better way to spend a rainy day than at Chuck E Cheese pizza place? The kids had a great time eating pizza, watching the "show" (although Paxton kept wondering where the "real" Chuck E Cheese was, eventually he got to see him come through the game area) riding on the toys,
and playing games like skee ball and basketball.

This was Madi's favorite game - apparently if you beat the crap out of the robot you could earn tickets. She was pretty good at this one! Then Paxton had to try after watching how it was done by the expert.

Here Madi, Brian & Paxton are racing:

The games earned them a bunch of tickets that they were then able to trade in for pirate rings (for Madi), foam rockets (for Parker) & a rubber shark (for Paxton.) In my time with the amount of tickets they earned you could have gotten a cool turquoise "boombox" (if you remember that expression,) but times have changed. This gives you a good idea of how many tickets each of them were earning:
When we got home the weather had warmed up so the kids were able to enjoy being outside for the afternoon.
